Postpartum Depression: Neglected Issue in Maternal Health

Mental health challenges can develop during the prenatal and postpartum periods when women face physical,mental, social adjustments. The major public concern is depression, which poses aserious threat to mothering has serious consequences for families. number of who experiencedepression pregnancy or within first 12 months after giving birth ranges from 10 20 percent.The clinics primarily use questionnaires diagnose patients. Treatment options include psychotherapy andantidepressant medications. Postpartum depression factors associated with depressionamong childbearing age are focus this review.
